Event Description:
Relay For Life is a fun and moving overnight experience that raises vital funds for Cancer Council’s research, prevention and support services. It’s a chance for communities to recognise and celebrate those who have overcome cancer or are undergoing treatment, as well as the people who care for them. Relay also provides an opportunity to celebrate the memory of loved ones lost to cancer. Aside from costumed members of D’Qar Outpost providing photo ops, high fives, and general interaction with people walking the track in participation of Relay for Life , the 501st Thylacine Squad and League of Heroes Tasmania were also in attendance.
The event organisers, and volunteers were very pleased with the outpost’s attendance and enthusiasm despite the heat that day and provided D’Qar Outpost a certificate of thanks.
D’Qar Outpost members were very happy with the reception they were given by Relay For Life and Cancer Council staff and volunteers as well as the attendees of the event, and look forward to working with them again in the future.
